Twitter is 5 years old. Here are some statistics.

Monday (yesterday) celebrated 5 years since Twitter came into existence with the first tweet being sent March 21, 2006. The short messaging system whose inspiration came from location information announced by public services (hospitals, police, etc.), quickly turned into a social mechanism and then shot into the stratosphere when they opened their API and let outside developers use their imagination. 

On Twitter I Was Asked What Social Media Will Look Like in the Next Few Years.

First off, thanks for reaching out. I was asked a similar question at the 2009 IEBA convention (What is the next "Facebook") and I copped out a little by saying there are smarter people who can figure that out. As it turns out, so far Facebook is the next Facebook.

Some thoughts on the 2010 Leadership Music Digital Summit

Last week I spent quite a bit of time at the Leadership Music Digital Summit in Nashville, TN.  I have attended the summit each of the past several years.  The purpose of the summit is to "inspire, instigate, communicate, and dissect the complex issues facing the music industry today."  Basically, the conversation each of the years I have attended has been very similar:
